Chehelgazi mosque and mazarar can be seen on the north side of Dinajpur Government College in Dinajpur district city. It is a very old mosque and a shrine. According to an inscription of the mosque, this mosque was built during the reign of Sultan Rukn-ud-din Barbak Shah in 1460 AD. Chehel words mean 40 and Gazi means heroic Muslim warrior. This Chehelgazi mazar is about 56 feet long in a grave. It is known that the name of this mazar is known as Chehel Gazi's Mazar, because 40 veteran Muslim fighters have been buried together here. It is also called the grave of 40 Muslim heroes. It is assumed that in the early Muslim period, the bodies of the soldiers who were killed in a religious war were buried together here.
There is a mosque on the west side of the mazar. It was one domed mosque. The religious building was built in a square. To reach the mosque, there were 3 entrances to the east and one entrance to the north and south. One mihraab was constructed on the west wall. The mosque is no longer in its former state.
